Origin - New Album In June
Entity, the new album from US technical death metallers Origin, will be released on June 7th in North America and June 10th in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records.
The album was recorded at Chapman Recording Studios in Lenexa, KS with longtime engineer and friend Robert Rebeck.
Drummer John Longstrength commented on the visual aspect of their forthcoming release: "As you can see, we're getting closer and closer to having a new album available for you. This has been a project that has been a long time in the making with all the unexpected twists and turns that come with creating an album and we are almost there. So, this is the new album cover! Designed by the band and executed flawlessly by artist extraordinaire, Colin Marks. As you can see, this time there's no aliens, no scary faces, no silly comic book imagery, no bullshit. It's back to basics for the people that don't fall for, or appreciate bullshit trends that currently compromise the validity of this art. Let this album cover with its grey, dead, coldness reflect our disdain for the misconception that Origin is represented by a giant, planet eating, scary face that's aimlessly roaming the cosmos like an idiot. Like the cover, the music on this album is stone, it's cold, it's serious, it's desolate, it's very angry, it's the band unified, and working overtime to create what we feel will be the finest 45 min Origin has created yet. This album is its own bitter Entity."
Commented artist Colin Marks: "It's been a real pleasure collaborating with the Origin guys on the artwork for Entity. From the beginning John had a very specific vision of how this record should look and I tried to interpret that as accurately as possible. The whole look of the album, the way I see it, is a suffocating vision of absolute solitude and isolation, with huge barren otherworldly landscapes. It's a simple concept but it works well and hopefully reflects the bleak tones and heaviness of the new songs."

Hate Eternal - North American Tour With Origin, Vital Remains
Hate Eternal and Origin will co-headline a North American summer tour that will also include Vital Remains and Abysmal Dawn.
Hate Eternal vocalist/guitarist Erik Rutan and co. will be heading out this summer in support of their new album for Metal Blade Records, which is currently in the final stages of being completed. Hate Eternal's new album promises to be one of the most venomous slabs of death metal in 2011 and this tour, which features fellow death metal greats Origin, Vital Remains and Abysmal Dawn, will easily be one of the heaviest line ups of the year - or so the official press release promises you.
Erik Rutan adds: "Hate Eternal is super excited to be touring North America this summer with a new album and a completely awesome death metal package. It has been a while since we have done a headliner tour in the US, so for us to co-headline with Origin and add Vital Remains and Abysmal Dawn to the bill, totally has us amped up and psyched like you can't imagine!
We eagerly and anxiously await our time until we can get out there and play material from old to new for the death metal masses. Looking forward to seeing you all at the shows, and we hope you're hungry for over the top intense sonic destruction. This is a tour you do not want to miss!"
