Porcupine Tree - Fans Advised Not To Tape Upcoming Shows

Porcupine Tree will embark on their only 2006 mid September till November. The format of the show this time around will be a little different, with half the show dedicated to material from the new live DVD "Arriving Somewhere....", but the other half being brand new, as yet unrecorded material, something that will allow these works in progress to evolve as the tour goes on.

In view of the fact that we live in the age of file sharing and download culture, the band are asking for consideration from all show attendees in *not* attempting to record the show in any way. While the band try to discourage taping of its shows, they do acknowledge that there are those fans who like to document and share PT live performances, and as such they have a fairly liberal policy with trading of recordings among the PT fan community, as long as no money is exchanged between parties. But in this case they hope that fans will understand their feeling that people should experience this new music for the first time in performance, and not in the form of unauthorised audience recordings. It's one thing to hear a substandard live recording of a piece already familiar, but quite another to hear something new for the first time in such poor circumstances, so if you are unable to get along to a show this time, please be patient and wait for the album versions!

Now the ugly part... as there are bound to be some fans who even after reading this will feel compelled to record the show, the band regret that there will be a greater effort made to stop illegal recording on this tour, and a zero tolerance policy as regards anyone found doing so. If anyone is discovered recording a show their recording media will be confiscated, and they will be escorted from the venue, missing the rest of the show with no refund forthcoming. The band therefore ask anyone that had planned to tape these shows to reconsider in deference to the band's feelings on this matter, and your own enjoyment of the show.

The band really do appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this. This is quite an exciting experiment for them and they look forward to seeing you on the tour!

Nevermore - Postpones DVD Recording Show

Nevermore have had to cancel their showing in Bochum, Germany where they were going to film a live DVD. The reason behind the cancellation was because vocalist Warrel Dane surprisingly suffered from a virus. On the morning of September 12th, 2006 (the day of the show) he felt sick and he ended up having to see a doctor at a hospital in Dortmund, Germany.

Here is a comment by Nevermore's management/booking agency:

"Unfortunately we had been informed by the doctor in charge relatively late (around 17:30h) that Warrel was not able to do the show and as the doctor insisted on keeping Warrel at the hospital, we could not do anything else but make the artist's health priority.

Together with band and the local venue (Zeche in Bochum), we agreed to re-do this show on October 11, 2006, Continental Concerts indicated this at the entrance of the venue as soon as we had made this decision.

Of course, all fans can return their tickets wherever they bought them. Nevermore and Continental Concerts are very sorry that we had to cancel this show. We hope and expect Warrel to be able to leave the hospital today to do the shows with Disturbed as well as further headliner shows and after that adequately recompense as many fans as possible at the end of the tour in Bochum on October 11, 2006".

Here is a comment by Nevermore drummer Van Williams:

"Hello everyone, Van here, just wanted to let everyone know that we are very sorry we were unable to do the DVD show. Warrel had to go to the hospital in the morning of that day and doctors have kept him there due to him having pneumonia. We wanted nothing more and were all looking forward to this show with our fans. We realize many of you have travelled far to be with us and Warrel most of all wanted the show to happen. We will update you as soon as we can on his condition. Thanks for sticking with us and more news as soon as we have it. Cheers Van".

Atrox - New Album

Atrox are currently working on their fifth studio album. This was posted by Edwald on their official website:

"During the last months we've been working hard with our next full length album. And currently we're looking for the right label to release it.

So what can we tell you about this album?

Well, Atrox has always been considered visionaries in the metal genre. This will in no way change with this album, however this time it is a quite different Atrox than on the previous releases. Mainly because of the latest roster change, and primarily in the new all-male-vocal department. But the new material is likely to reach out to a much broader and diverse audience, because of the vast musical diversity of the six musicians. With this album, the Atrox sound is presented in a new wrapping - a metal based fundament spiced up with elements of elektronika, pop, jazz and funky balooba!

This is an ambitious record, certain to be the best Atrox album to date. Musically this will be an album full of contrasts. Contrasts of old and new, organic and mechanic. Modern electronics meets vintage instruments in a rare symbiosis. It can be weird. It can be complex. It can be smooth. The material is intended to work just as well in an live environment, as well as it can take the listener on a exceedingly vast, musical journey through a headset."
