Wacken Open Air 2016 will tighten the security measures in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Germany, including a July 24th suicide bomber at an Ansbach music festival. Due to security concerns, all backpacks and bags are banned from the event area. This year, 1349, Alcest, Arch Enemy, Blind Guardian, Equilibrium, Ihsahn, Iron Maiden, Marduk, Testament, Triptykon, just to name a few, will perform at the festival this summer. Some 80,000 metal fans will be heading to Wacken Open Air next week.

Amon Amarth have two new updates regarding upcoming shows. This September/October, the Swedish metal kings will return to the USA as direct support to the mighty Megadeth. Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, and Havok are also on the bill. As far as Europe goes, they also announced the final shows and support. Currently touring with Slayer and Testament in North America, Carcass vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker broke his foot, prior to the band's March 19th concert in Seattle, Washington. However, Jeff Walker is being a trooper and will complete the tour that wraps up on March 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hopefully, Jeff Walker will feel better soon.
