Arch Enemy - New Album Info And Tour Dates

As posted in the Arch Enemy news section:

"Arch Enemy are pleased to announce they have completed work on their highly anticipated new album. The new masterpiece entitled "Rise Of The Tyrant" was recorded at Studio Fredman with Producer Fredrik Nordström and will be unleashed on the metal world on September 24th, 2007.

Arch Enemy mastermind Michael Amott comments on the new album and the upcoming touring activities as follows:

"To all Arch Enemy fans!

So how does it sound, you ask? Well, I am of the opinion that we have made the 'ultimate Arch Enemy album'!!! To me, this album sounds like the perfect mix of melody and brutality. This album is a an organic and honest statement from the band - it's pure f**king metal at its absolute best, the Arch Enemy way!

Producer Fredrik Nordström did a killer mix on the record - the sound is big and intense! This album has everything that Arch Enemy represents in my mind. I can't wait to release it and play these songs live for you, the fans!"

Actually, we have to start rehearsing at some point this summer? We will be playing a couple of festivals in the U.K. ('Bloodstock') and Germany ('Up From The Ground'). These will be the first shows with my brother Christopher (Amott - Guitar) back in the band! We also have to work out how to play these new songs so we will have a very busy summer with Arch Enemy, that's for certain!

The touring plan for Arch Enemy will start full on after the summer, and we can confirm we will joining the European "Black Crusade" tour package with Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce and Shadows Fall - yeah, that's a pretty impressive tour, huh? Equally exciting for us is the Australian "Black Crusade" tour which we will be doing with Trivium and Machine Head.

Lot's of other cool touring ideas are flying around at the moment - looks like we also might be visiting places on this planet where Arch Enemy has not yet had the pleasure of playing?????. That's what it's all about!

Let the madness begin?"

Rise Of The Tyrant tracklisting:
01. Blood On Your Hands
02. The Last Enemy
03. I Will Live Again
04. In This Shallow Grave
05. Revolution Begins
06. Rise Of The Tyrant
07. The Day You Died
08. Intermezzo Liberté
09. Night Falls Fast
10. The Great Darkness
11. Vultures

Arch Enemy Live:

Aug. 18 - Bloodstock Festival - Derby, UK
Aug. 24 - Up From The Ground Festival - Gemuenden, Germany

The Vision Bleak - Album Info And New Song

The following message was posted on The Vision Bleak's official website:

"After nearly six months in the studio, The Vision Bleak have just finished recording their third album, "The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey". The album contains nine songs which are definitely among the heaviest and at the same time the most atmospheric and most stringent pieces of music The Vision Bleak has ever released," says Ulf Theodor Schwadorf about the follow-up to 2005's very successful album "Carpathia". The Metal part - read: the guitar riffs - of The Vision Bleak's sound certainly has made it more into the foreground on 'The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey', but still there are bombastic orchestral sections, acoustic guitars, sitars and lots of atmospheric details featured in all songs. The band isn't promising too much here, as the song 'By Our Brotherhood With Seth' will prove.

"The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey" cover here.

The track list of "The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey":

1) Amala & Kamala
2) She-Wolf
3) The Demon Of The Mire
The Black Pharaoh Trilogy
4) Introduction
5) Part I: The Shining Trapezohedron
6) Part II: The Vault Of Nephren-Ka
7) The Eldrich Beguilement
8) Evil Is Of Old Date
9) By Our Brotherhood With Seth

"The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey" will be released on August 31, 2007, as a normal CD and a deluxe edition. Apart from a live DVD, the deluxe edition will contain a return coupon for ordering an exclusive T-shirt and a free The Vision Bleak patch".

Epica - Mark Jansen To Raise Money For World Wide Fund For Nature

On Saturday the 7th of July this year (07-07-07), Mark Jansen, guitarist of Epica, will ride the Marmotte for the benefit of the World Wide Fund for Nature. The Marmotte is a French one-day cycle marathon of 174 km. Despite the fact that this marathon is not very well known to most Dutch people, it is one of the most renowned among the fanatic cyclists. This competitive journey can be compared to a heavy tour leg in the Alps. The ride involves 4 mountain passes, of which 3 are considered hors category (toughest mountains) in the Tour de France.

The marathon will involve the next mountains: Col de la Croix de Fer, col du Télégraphe, col du Galibier and last but not least, l'Alpe de l'Huez needs to be mounted.

Anyone can sponsor me for this event by filling in a certain amount of money per kilometer on the inscription form. All profits from this event will go to the WWF. My travel and accommodation expenses will be taken care of by myself.

I am really looking forward to this and I hope that lots of people will support this campaign.

Greets, Mark
