Hmm, all i can say is that it's an extremely "modern metal" bill so far, aside of course from BOC and Devil's Blood. i'm not fully convinced tho

For a first announcement, I think it is very solid... maybe 7 or 8 bands I want to see. Since you don't see more than 20-25 bands, it's gonna be hard to choose for sure.

Vanderbuyst plays ancient metal as well. Hell, they are at tioes a perfect cross of UFO and Thin Lizzy.

I doubt Wacken or Graspop would ever bill Blue Oyster Cult, which is currently the main reason i'm even considering getting to this fest (as it would cost me a lot more time and money than Wacken for example)

Apologies everyone but please be aware that diSEMBOWELMENT is in fact NOT performing at Hellfest 2012.
Paul and Matt, two original members of diSEMBOWELMENT have put a band together to play the original songs live for the first time. That band is known as d.USK, and is a tribute to the original band.
Hopefully this will be amended in the promotional material asap.
d.USK will be performing at the Roadburn festival and a number of other dates in Europe for 2012.

Those are also my thoughts... if they turned it into a 4 or 5 day event it would already surely be the best festival of 2012 by far, even just with this line-up.

This way Sabbath's going to play for 60-75 minutes max, Machine Head and BOC 45 minutes max, etc. It's gonna be quite the festival for people with ADD.

60 more bands for real? Wow, talk about an opinion changing overnight. That would be like asking me to listen to only demos and EPs instead of full-lengths.

Yes 60 more bands. But I don't think there will onyl be four stages though, toherwise you can't accommodate that many bands in three days from 11 a.m. till 01.00 a.m.

40 minutes is actually the perfect length for Machine Head. that way they will have to cut out their overlong boring songs.

I think it's the only reasonable way to make 150 bands play more than 15 minutes over 3 days. But that means that there are going to be even more clashes
