My favorite and most enjoyed album's of the decade 2000-2009. Roughly in order, but not exactly.

You can kinda tell from this list that I joined Metalstorm in 2009. I started discovering far more music thanks to this site, hence the number of '09 releases featured. I'm slowly starting to pick back through the top lists of previous years, so I expect more pre-'09 releases will be added to this list.

I definitely share your experience with Metalstorm - I too joined in 2009 and have massively expanded my music library along with my taste thanks to dedicated listeners of this site. I find the general "culture" of this community to be more European (less American-minded musically), less susceptible to hype, more supportive of the underground, less "noise" (aka. everything not directly related to the music itself), more emphasis on innovation and the overall musical experience. Thus over the years I've found myself to become a loyal user.

Judging by this list you're definitely a fan of the progressive and its tangents, which has also appealed to me greatly since I discovered metal, but it's also awesome to see bands like Saturnus make the list.
