Now before I start this review I have to admit, on hearing this album for the first time I thought Brian Johnson's vocals were way to shrieky and high pitched in places and this almost immediately turned me off the album. However on second listen I realsied just how good a vocalist this guy was, how EFFECTIVE a vocalist he is and actually focused on the songs; boy was I blown away. I had listened to "perfect" (or as close to "perfect" as any album can really get) albums before, but even so, the quality and sheer power of this album stunned me, as I am sure it will continue to do for many more people out there.

" He is unique, we don't want someone that would just be a Bon wannabe". These were the words -with the present tense- Angus Young used for his friend Bon Scott during a press conference in 1980.The whole world was learning the death of the legendary and brilliant singer Ronald Belford Scott, 33 years old, by suffocation. Dismay was ib the place, and yet Angus, Malcolm, Cliff and Phil decided to continue the trip ACDC, encouraged by the parents of the defucnt singer. But how can one go on when he's just lost a friend, a brother? The answer was brought up by a kid from Newcastle. Brian Johnson, who was until then the lead singer in Geordie, quickly integrated the bandthat came back to work and released the same year Back In Black, their balck album.

Easily "one of" everyone's favourite AC/DC albums.

Easily "one of" the most annoying spam posts I've seen in a while. You don't have to say the same thing on every album page.

You don't have to say the same thing on every album page.

Maybe it's a witty attempt at saying that all AC/DC classic albums sound pretty much alike!

In that case, I'd say carry on, because that's more than accurate.

BAZINGA!

But then again Razor's Edge is totally NOT a classic AC/DC album And Back In Black was their last truly good one.

Nope that would be For Those About To Rok, and if if it were the best since Back In Black it is still an atrocious little monster

For me this album is the finest example of dirty and hard rock'n'roll filled to the brim with smashing hits. Indeed, "rock'n'roll ain't noise pollution".

In my opinion, this is the best hard rock album ever. It's changed my life and introduced me into "hard" music.

This one is good but for me, Rocks by Aerosmith is my favourite rock album.

AC DC are of those bands that for me they had one nice song in the form of hit, in every album. So only a compilation would be strong enough as an album, which is not actually an album. Rating them is difficult for me.

Exactly. A top 20 AC/DC album playlist kicks ass. Actually I'd say a top 30, but I'd lean into their 70's stuff pretty heavily, though this album would probably have the most appearances of any.

Even your average Hollywood actresses love AC/DC. A class act that everyone, their dog and granny can sing along to. The word play in the song back in black would make Jay Z himself envious.

One of my most played albums in the old days. Now when I listen to it, some songs aren't exactly my AC/DC favourites -- #3, #4 and #9 do almost nothing to me. Nevertheless one of my favourite albums from year 1980.

AC/DC's best and one of the greatest rock albums of all time IMO.

9.2/10 for me - "Hells Bells", "Shoot To Thrill", "Back In Black", and "You Shook Me All Night Long" are the standout tracks, while "What Do You Do For Money Honey", "Given The Dog A Bone", and "Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" are all also great. "Shake A Leg" is the weakest song.

AC/DC's best

Nah

well, at least best with Brian on vocals.

To me it's an all killer no filler album. I like a couple of albums with Bon Scott more, but Back in Black is up there with the best.

The only album under the Brian era I really liked, I've always preferred their 70's work, it just sounded more bluesy too me back then, which I preferred, and Angus had better solo's then. But this album is just full of classic songs, with no fillers whatsoever.

Some excellent tracks as usual, but I've always thought the album as a whole is overrated, much like the others.
