Top 28 Folk Metal Albums
I’ve been a fan of some folk metal bands such as Ensiferum and Moonsorrow for a while now. I loved the combination of melody and intensity combined with traditional folk influences from their respective country’s history. Thanks to MS, I’ve discovered tons of new folk metal bands over the years such as Empyrium, Xanthochroid and Equilibrium and it has become one of my favourite genres of metal.
So here are my favourites of the genre with my rating, its sub-genre and release year:

Are there any must-listens I'm missing here? I've listened to To The Nameless Dead by Primordial, Wolfheart by Moonspell and Falconer’s self titled - all fantastic albums but I didn't enjoy them quite enough to make this list.

Great list, your top 2 would be mine as well  A few I'd mention (that are vastly different) would be: Skyclad - Prince Of The Poverty Line Negură Bunget - OM Ulver - Bergtatt - Et Eeventyr I 5 Capitler

The only reason taking me away from this list is too much lust for Ensiferum and Moonsorrow. It looks biased. This list lacks the folk metal depth.
