Castevet is unpredictable and discordant on my ears and as you told in your staff pick, they draw influences from virus in their riffing =p. I got a virus fetish recently
Been considering The Axis of Perdition, Ordo ad Chao, Antediluvian and Elend. Khanate and Alkerdeel never crossed my mind, probably because of their sludgy roots. Moreover, I have n0n and Oxbow but have not checked them yet.
I personally did not like Khlyst and thus, they would not be added.
Been trying to get Demilich,Xasthur, Arizmenda and Ebonylake. Hope that will be able to check them ASAP and never heard of Negativa. Thanks for suggestions 8)

Castevet do borrow from Virus, but I find them a very warm and encompassing band myself. Especially the new album.
Negativa are an offshoot of Gorguts, so they sound very similar. Also check Baring Teeth for a similar type of sound.

Tbh, while 99% of dissonant metal albums sound cold and dehumanized, warmer albums could also be added to this list. For instance, I find Gigan album to be really fun and yet, it is included.
Based on band name, I thought that Negativa is BM. Good to know that Gorguts guys have side project. Finally, Baring Teeth would be most likely be added as a few youtube tracks I heard from them were cool but I first need to check the whole thing.

And what are the first four rules?
Rule#1 : Make your mind sure about the title unless you want to change it as many times as Frit does

I had a little skim through and yeah, I think Castevet would be a good additional dimension to the list after all.

Some clear dissonance in stuff like Khanate (see: Things Viral) and Alkerdeel. The Amenta's n0n and Oxbow ("She's a find" is a brilliant track... BRILLIANT I SAY) are great suggestions as well.
Also I'm not sure but maybe Maudlin Of The Well and Kayo Dot (the band that was formed after MofW's demise) might work here as well.

Booooo, I missed all the discussion.
Anyway, by considering dissonant metal any band that deals with an important amount of dissonance in their music, I can say my favorites ones that I don't see on this list are Shining (NOR) (at least the Blackjazz album, the rest are more harmonic), Unexpect, Smohalla (don't miss this year's split with Omega Centauri, best thing this year had to offer so far IMO) and Sculptured.
Maybe Sculptured is more atonal (that is basically, Meshuggah) than dissonant but I remember they mess with it a bit.

I don't really think any of those are dissonant, even Shining (NOR).

Shining's sound, at least on Blackjazz as I said, is clearly based on dissonance. Their frontman even wrote an article on how dissonance was incorporated on music though history, mentioning on certain points how his own albums makes use of it.
As for the others, except Sculptured which I'm not 100% sure (it's been a long time since I don't spin one of their record, damn), I remember hearing lot of dissonance on their songs as well.

I will (re-)listen to Khanate ,Alkerdeel,Amenta and Oxbow today. Also, regarding of Maudlin Of The Well and Kayo Dot, well, I like them both but the last time I listened to them I was not familiar with dissonant metal. They might fit here but I should try them again. Thanks for suggestions

You can have the discussion anytime
I just vaguely remember shining-Blackjazz and Sculptured (listened to them once or twice long time ago) and like MoTW, I was not familiar with dissonance back then. Regarding Unexpect, I must say that I'm their big fan but to be honest, I don't consider them a dissonant band. They manage to mix a lot of different musical elements and create an interesting chaotic mess but they don't use dissonance. I'll call them chaotic but not dissonant metal. Finally, I just have heard Smohalla 's name a couple of times. Will check them.

Well, it's a fact they do use dissonance and in a decent amount, whether you consider it enough to be on your list or not is entirely up to you

They probably do, but in the contrary to all of albums here, I don't like unexpect because of their dissonance. That particular word is not what comes to my mind when I'm thinking about unexpect

I'd personally pick The Desanctification over MoRT, but other than that awesome list, I really like the idea behind it

But MoRT, above pretty much any metal record I can think of, exemplifies the idea of dissonant metal I'd wager.

I know, I'm pretty much just saying that I prefer The Desanctification over it

I was going to spend more time and have a major update to this list but since lists are going to be deleted, I added Antediluvian - λόγος, Demilich - Nespithe, Ebonylake - In Swathes Of Brooding Light, Khanate - Things Viral, Oxbow - The Narcotic Story, The Amenta - n0n and The Axis Of Perdition - The Ichneumon Method. I also feel ambivalent about Chaos Echoes but fuck it, there is no more time. I thank people who gave me recommendations.

Desanctifation could well be here if it was released by another band. I love it but MoRT wins here.

"Feels stupid again"
But seriously, I first thought that this should be an idea for April's Fool and since it's executed now, it should be serious. Was wondering why this has not been announced in site news section.
