Moonspell, and Samael are death metal?

The first album is classical dm on my opinion and the press, no?

A lot of good bands, but i would have used the debuts of Entombed, Asphyx, Death, Obituary, Cancer, and Morbid Angel. Also I would have used Consuming Impluse by Pestilence and Nectroticism by Carcass... but a great list regardless

@Aristarchos - No, Cathedral fall into a the category doom death metal, but for me, "Equlibrium" is the first album that brings some elements of death metal in doom metal and ... do not forget that Lee Dorian comes from Napalm Death! Influences a feel on classic dm! Thanks a lot!

Paradise Lost - Lost Paradise, Winter - Into Darkness, Necro Schizma with their demos, are just three examples of instances where elements of death metal were brought into doom and tbh a lot more death metal than what Cathedral used.

Lol, haven't spun Equilibrium that often, but I can't remember hearing many, if any, death metal in it. So I agree with you, as PL - LP and Winter's debut both have a lot of death in them. Correctly labelled they would be doom death metal, even though Winter is slow as hell. Let's not forget Disembowelment's debut by the way.

Why the hell are all the bands capitalized? It looks awful... not to mention quite a few of the albums aren't correctly linked.

Also, the albums of Cathedral, Anathema, PL, Moonspell (WTF?! This doesn't even have death metal in it), Winter and Sadness shouldn't be in this list, as they're not death metal (primarily).

Some bands it is not necessarily pure death metal but were now on demos and ep, so it can be classified in sub doom death metal, melodic death or slow death. At that time there were these styles and can not find that today seems misplaced, but then there was one death metal style and most of what was almost fit!

One album per line, should be entered with '|' delimiters: Band | Album | Year

That's not true. The site is not to blame that you got so many album titles wrong. Besides, Redel's hint was actually very helpful.
All the information is right there, but you may need some very special skills to make it work.
