Darkane - Vocalist Quits

Darkane vocalist Andreas Sydow has decided to leave the band and issued his official statement on the Darkane website:

"The time has come, my friends for me to step down from my position as vocalist of the greatest band in the world!

I feel I've reached a stand still in the creative process with Darkane and together we came to the decision to let fresh blood into the band for the upcoming fifth album. Darkane is constantly evolving and I'm sure that this ignition will be great for the band.

We certainly part ways as very good friends and we're in fact still working together on finishing the long awaited DVD. Hopefully the Darkane "Layers of Live" DVD will be released this autumn and, in a way, sum up my 7 years with Darkane and be the perfect closure.

I feel very honoured and privileged to have been a part of such a great musicianship as Darkane and I have tons of great memories from all we've experienced together. I'm really gonna miss it!

I want to send out a great big thanks to all the people I've met and gotten to know over these 7 years! To all family and friends for supporting me and the band. To all the great bands we've met, played and toured with, especially to Devin Townsend (I wouldn't have made it through the U.S. without you!). To all the crew that has helped us out over the years. To Erin Lynch for believing in us and coping with all our bad habits, misshapes, accidents and illnesses (You sure are the Darkane tour mama!). To the Nuclear Blast crew, in Europe as well as in the USA (Thanks for helping me fulfil one of my biggest dreams, Gerardo! Keep working those vocals, Loana, and keep your enthusiasm flowing!). To all the fanzine's that spread the word about Metal all over the world. Your work is extremely important and appreciated! And finally a HUGE thanks to all the fans all over the world for coming to the shows and supporting Darkane! You are my, and Darkane's, true inspiration!"

Leng Tch'e - Part Ways With Drummer

Belgian grinders Leng Tch'e have made the following announcement:

"Last week's tour was awesome and therefore we'd like to give mad props to all the guys in Immolation, Krisiun and Dawn Of Azazel plus the whole Massive Music crew for being excellent professionals and genuinely nice people.

On a lesser note, the drama continues as Svencho decided to quit the band in order to focus on Aborted and other musical projects. We thank him for the years invested in Leng Tch'e and wish him luck in his future endeavors. However, this will definitely not be the end of the band since we feel that "Marasmus" is our strongest record to date and therefore we will continue on our path of mayhem and destruction. Interested drummers can send their applications to nicolas@razorgrind.com."

Kataklysm - Announce New Album Title

Kataklysm singer Maurizio Iacono has issued the following update:

"First off, I want to sincerely thank everyone involved with The Invaluable Darkness Tour we just completed with our friends Dimmu Borgir. We would like to thank them for treating us like brothers and to all their crew for helping us out when we needed it. This new friendship is forged in blood! Thanks also to Devildriver whom we shared a bus with and developed a new friendship. Last but not least, the dudes in Unearth, all cool people. This tour was a triumph for us in all senses, especially to be able to play for our fans on a bigger package, who proved to us everyday that all the blood and sweat wasn't for nothing. The words of encouragement from our fans mean EVERYTHING.

"We're gonna finish writing a new album, titled 'Prevail', this summer, because we know how important this one will be for our fans, and 'prevail' is exactly what we want to do with this album. It has to be as perfect as we can make it. If it doesn't bring the goosebumps, it ain't coming out right. Guitarist J-F Dagenais will produce and engineer the album as always. In the meantime, we have two more tours planned this year: late summer or early fall in North America and in Europe in October with Behemoth and Aborted. A big thank you to all our supporters worldwide. We won't disappoint ? you know how we roll!"

Dismember - Parts Ways With Drummer

Swedish Death Metal legends Dismember have posted the following update:

"We are sad to announce that after almost 20 years Fred has, after long and careful consideration, decided to leave the band.

'My decision to put my family in first hand makes it impossible to keep on touring and commit to the band full time. I want to thank all the fans, friends, bands and all the other cool people I've met through the years and I wish Dismember all the best in the future. Fred.'

Dismember are currently in the process of writing new material and this sad loss will not interrupt any future plans in any way. The commitment to keep on playing is stronger than ever!"
