I would suggest Bolt Thrower's Mercenary ...Its not full of samples but damn they are used good!
Just listen the start of No Guts No Glory

This is really the only track on the album that has any samples in it, but I really like the ones in this, whatever they're from

I think an exception would be reasonable for Agalloch to include Faustian Echoes. That song would be massively different without the samples. I particularly love the ending.

And the opening to the first song from the debut : "They know who I am ... They got my shield, don't you get it! ... The eyes, I saw his eyes!"
Song.
Love the list Rod, lots of interesting stuff

From Between Bronze Walls, yes! Thank you, I always wondered what it was that sample was saying

Strange I didn't think of this. Faustian Echoes is pretty much essential for this list I'd say.

This is great as well (Alrakis - Sternenstaub). I really enjoyed Sunshine inspite of it being kinda cheesy (and derivative).

FLA from Millenium album? Oomph or any industrial metal?
Or the infamous:
Quote: The album was out of print for over a decade due to copyright infringement: the seventh track, "Liebeslied", used unauthorized samples from a recording of "O Fortuna", from Carl Orff's 1930s cantata Carmina Burana. The album was recalled approximately three years after being released. Copies today are rare and considered collector's items.

Dude, as I understand what is said in all the samples Diapsiquir used in Virus STN, I'd bump it right to the first place. They're so kvlt we used to randomly use them in everyday life situations. But it's a great list. You get a +1. Do you update it regularly?

Hah, I'd love to understand what the samples and vocalist are saying. Thanks for the thumbs up. As for updates: Now that summer vacations are upon me, I have no excuses for not checking out all the recommendations I got from everybody... xD So yeah. I'll work on it soon...ish. It's definitely not dead though.
As for first places. I don't have any. Alphabetical order to make it easier for me.

Yep! Horrible. The lyrics themselves deserve to be translated. Just a peak. "Génération Maudite Pénétration Interdite" is a track describing the raping of a child. The one with the crying baby sample. Ahem:
"Allez, laisse-moi te toucher, arrête de bouger ! / Je pourrais être ton père tu sais." = Come on, let me touch you! / I could be your father you know.
"Haha, tu as peur, acide est ma sueur / Ah... si t'avais une soeur..." = Haha, you're scared, acid is my sweat / Ah... if only you had a sister...
Then there's that sample in track 5, "Diapsiquir" at 1'13":
"Si vous ne l'avez pas compris, c'est parce que Dieu ne s'adressait pas à vous. Moi je l'ai vu ! Moi j'y ai accès ! J'ai trouvé la formule! Il m'a guidé, il m'a appelé ! C'est moi, MOI qu'il a choisi !"
It translates into : "If you didn't understand it, it's because God wasn't talking to you. I have seen it! I have access to it! I found the formula! He guided me, he called me! It is me, ME, whom he chose!"
I can't find the source of this sample, but I am almost certain it's a quote from the movie Pi I talked to you about the other night (I think it was you). It's a great movie, which I should watch again, at least to find out if this is where the sample comes from.
Talking about awesome fucked up French BM, Blacklodge used some pretty cool samples in SolarKult too. But I'm sure you're familiar with Blacklodge.

Noooo, Lucas doesn't like Blacklodge, don't listen to what he says. He was already in his doom/drone period when he wrote that one. I remember arguing with him about it. It's definitely something you have to listen to if you like Diapsiquir. It's a lot more techo/industrial though. Some say Login:SataN is better than Solarkult, but I disagree.

Seriously? He does? I just lost a huge chunk of respect for the bloke, if I had any in the first place. Haha. That's most probably because he doesn't understand the lyrics. Honestly, if I didn't know what was going on in that album, I would like it half as much.

Around 16:13 in this uses the Mystery Man encounter from Lost Highway

That scene immediately captures the attention of people. Love that scene, and movie as well (best Lynch movie along with Mulholland Dr. for me, which is brilliant as well). Btw, funny fact: Fred's (Bill Pullman) house was actually David Lynch's house back then (he designed the house himself as well).

I'd probably go with those two along with Eraserhead, which (along with his early animated works) is a total surrealist masterpiece. You don't like it?
*Also cool note: part of what makes that scene so monumental and attention-grabbing is how Lynch silences the background music as soon as the Mystery Man appears. Very clever directing.

Yeah, Eraserhead is brilliant, but I would say it's just not as good as Lost Highway and Mulholland Dr.. Not sure if you were implying I don't like Eraserhead, but if you were, I wonder why you would think so. I like/love everything by Lynch except for Dune which was pretty damn bad.
About the music being silenced: I immediately noticed that. And time after time again I think "damn, this works so well", so yeah I definitely agree with you. Another funny fact is that Robert Blake (Mystery Man) was actually convincted for the murder of his wife a few years after Lost Highway. Can't remember the year though and whether he was found guilty or not (too lazy to look it up ).
