Hellfest 2016 - Lineup Announced
The organizers want to make Hellfest 2016 one of the most memorable yet and they have made the first announcement of bands that will head to France next summer to perform live on 17-18-19 June 2016. Some of the big names include the highly requested Black Sabbath, Amon Amarth, King Diamond, Megadeth, Rammstein, and more. Mind you that there are still 7 months left before Hellfest's gates open, but all the 3-day tickets have been sold already. Decent, if classical, line-up. With Jambinai  , Rammstein and Solefald (among others)...Also, HF is sold-out now. One day tickets will be sold in January or something. BTW, Ben Barbaud (HF's mainman) said in an interview that the third headliner wouldn't be Iron Maiden this year - would make them too similar to Download - but talks were in progress for 2017. In the same interview (I think) he also said that PAradise Lost would play Draconian Times and King Diamond would play Abigail. Wait and see then... Rumors keep buzzing about Metallica.

More of the same, have the impression all the bands are rotating on a 2-3 year basis (or less). Few nice exceptions I like would be Solefald or King Dude. Interesting to see that Thrash has been relegated to the tents (expect 3/4 of Big 4) and even more "big mainstream acts", which probably continues the trent towards Wacken-like fest (if they aren't there already).

These festivals lack Doom Metal too. There was only a few at Hellfest 2014, and most were Stoner Doom. I don't remember any being at Wacken 2006? I'm aiming for smaller festivals next time i visit Europe. Most of the bands you want to see clash anyway.
