2015 Album Recommendations

Due to new developments and time constraints, I have streamlined this back into one list. I have taken off anything that I did not care for, so just consider it a list of recommended listens. You can find full reviews on Metal Trenches (MT) in most cases. Also jumping on the artwork bandwagon:

Supposed to say Hardcore. I still stand by the Botch reference, so poo on you. This was one of the first ones I added, so it was just a copy paste and there is not much info. I'll have to go back and listen again.

I really wanted to like that album. The atmosphere is great and there are pieces to it that are right up my alley, but it just failed to stand out in any significant way for me. I've been listening to nearly solid BM for hours a day, so that probably has a lot to do with it. Alex can bring the posse and the noose, still don't care :-P

Lol well obviously I disagree with his rating, and I'm assuming you bring me into this because of my constant "I <3 Desolate Shrine" spam? Because IfuckingloveDesolateShrine.

I'm not too fond of DM in general but I will probably still check out that album sooner or later, just because I'm curious about it.

Ah I see. Here on MS there's no BM tag, only a DM tag, so hence why I thought as such. Seeing as it's black/death (or vice versa ) I'm more eager to check it out.

Rating aside, it is definitely worth a spin. I think plenty of people will like it more than I did.

Wow, that comment really speaks volumes about your personality online. Just chill out, man.

Marcel is perfectly entitled to call you out on parts of your minireview that don't characterize the music very well, so really you should be more appreciative. You've hopefully learned more about what epic doom is and how it should be characterized, which will improve your further reviews. I've had similar experiences with !J.O.O.E!, who obviously has more experience with certain subgenres of metal, and I've come to appreciate people trying to improve my musical insight. Those sort of comments really help everyone and I think they should be encouraged!

Mind=blown. All this time I assumed it was Grutle. Thanks for the correction. And for the record, I was not mad at Marcel if it looked that way. I was going for a Napoleon Dynamite animated annoyance.

I like your list and the descriptions, and some of the selections here I wasn't aware were going to being released soon (so thank you for that), but the way you laid out the scoring criteria is a bit of an eyesore. Couldn't you just include it in the descriptions instead of dedicating entire lines to their purpose? It would look so much better compact and without the ugly spacings.
