At first glance I don't see any suckage. Well done.
I had forgotten about some of these albums, a decade is long...

I give you and this list full credit for getting me to listen to Ill Omen. I know I heard the album prior to Æ.Thy.Rift way back and was like 'meh', so I dont know if I ever gave it a shot. But what an album! Also liked Void Meditation Cult.

A couple of months ago I was thinking about doing a list like this. But I don't know if I would be able to make a list like this. Might be too hard for me to pick out 100 albums (+ I keep postponing an attempt at it)
So kuddos on being able to make a list like this one. I see a lot of good stuff on here.

Creating this list took me a whole year haha. I picked the albums first and for that I had to listen to the old albums once again to see if they are as brilliant as I remembered them. Then I chose the order I believed was appropiate.
It was my little project last year

Yeah I can see it being necessary to listen to certain albums again. A fun little project though.
Personally I would probably be able to get between 30-50 without needing to listen to them again but for the rest, I'd have to do re-spins for sure. It's definitely going to take time doing that. The first couple of weeks of the new year are usually quite calm in terms of releases, maybe it's now time to do some of those re-listens.

Cheers. I will also recommend you to check Todesstos' Ebne Graun. It might be something you dig.

What can I say? this is the closest I know we'll ever get to a Marcel top teens article.
Can't help but ask what happened to Arizmenda, Triptykon or Swans? Something was telling me instinctively that they would be here too but anywho, thank you for sharing! Truly inspirational quality here, meant to have admitted that long back.

I like Arizmenda but I was never such a huuuugeeee fan. My favorite from them didn't belong to the decade this list is about.
Last time I checked the Triptykon albums I wasn't so impressed.
I didn't listen to any modern Swans :p

Sorry for the late response up front! These were some interesting perspectives, lemme share with you mine. I get where you're coming from with Arizmenda's impact as they rely on being heavily invested into trying them for that "effect" the conversations seem to talk about. The main thing I got with that one was it did what the debut did bending and wailing along however included some piercing melodies and sexual jazzy bass although I'm still conflicted about whether to own it.
Triptykon successfully managed to get that perfect shovel of a guitar tone and come off as being massive yet melancholic in an arching sense. In some ways, I felt their last album was a swansong to the master that was H.R. Giger.
And yeah, the first two Swans albums last decade are massif in their own rights it's just a matter of what you prefer. Another interesting omission was Oranssi Pazuzu though I don't find myself constantly revisiting them as much as I expect when I'm going through my collection when I want to return to quality again jaja I was one of those who never loved the debut to death but downed everything after moreorless.
