So here we are again . After many years of dedication and love to this music that we call progressive metal, here are some of the best albums that ever existed and made the earth a better place . Give to these albums the attention and the respect they deserve and you will be fully awarded. I think i will try and limit this list to 3 cd's maximum per band to make this thing more challenging .

Don't mind the order in which i placed these albums . It is art and most of the times , the feelings you earn by those creations cannot be measured .

Hm, nice list but I'm not sure why you consider Deathspell Omega, Diablo Swing Orchestra or Arcturus to be prog.

I consider them prog cause in a way that is what they do exactly . They evolved as musicians and at the same time they evolved the genre they represent . Prog is not about saying out to the crowd how good you are by playing 3.000 melodies per second but by making a statement as a musician . By evolving the music you play and make a classic record that in the time it was released , it broke the barriers by being simply extraordinary . That is my point of view .

Arcturus is avantgarde, which is a somewhat inherently progressive in its compositions and song structure. I'd say arcturus is progressive if you wanna call them that. but i just use avantgarde to describe them.

when i thought about making this list i wanted to focus mainly on prog metal rather than prog rock . I may do a prog rock list in the future . Thanks man !
