Idk if you want to include non-ms bands, but Bestia Arcana only has one album, and it's really fucking good. Chaotic and dissonant black metal, what's not to like?

I won't add albums that aren't on MS, sorry. But I'll check this stuff out nonetheless.

Man do you look after your lists! This one is really very comprehensive now. I'd like to recommend Virus' Carheart album as an excellent debut. And as Lit. mentioned, Crimson Glory's debut, I'm particularly fond of that one as well.

Thanks. Late reply, I know, but I'm going to check 'em out. So busy with my new list I'm totally neglecting this one. At some point in the near future I will continue adding albums of course, but for now it'll be a bit slow.

Resurrection - Embalmed Existence
Disincarnate - Dreams of the Carrion Kind
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
Demilich - Nespiche

And some others I like:
W.A.S.P. - W.A.S.P.
Witchfinder General - Death Sentence
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love
Static-X - Wisconsin Death Trip
Hell - Human Remains
Lazarus A.D. - The Onslaught
Ghost - Opus Eponymous
Crimson Glory - Crimson Glory

Added most of these (all the death metal ones anyway), but need to check a few of the others out but probably won't add all of them seeing as I don't really enjoy some subgenres a lot (for example the Static-X one I'm doubtful of).

Already have quite some "work" to do seeing as now have even more lists to take care of. But I'll still check your suggestions out sooner or later. Oh, and you're right, death metal isn't my cup of tea but I still can listen to the really good stuff. I'd probably never search for new death metal music like how I search for new doom and black metal. Also, I'd like this list to have the essential albums of doom, black, gothic, progressive, thrash and death metal. Styles such as heavy, power, nu metal and all the "-core" stuff I'm not fond of at all, although I won't say I don't add albums from those genres at all (I recently added Helloween's debut for example, which I really liked and is a classic in the genre).

I love Meshuggah, but I would NEVER classify their debut as a great debut album.

Hmmm interesting. I remember liking it when I was checking it out, so added it to the list. I'll listen again soon and then decide whether it stays or not. So for now it's staying... or else the list would be 299 albums long and I don't want that, obviously. I noticed you liked Fearmeister's 80's list... well, quite a few of that list are added to this list now.

Also you might want to revisit Tesseract (if only for the Concealing Fate EP within the debut), Masterplan, and Periphery. Regardless of the vocals, the guitar work on those albums is spectacular. Not to mention Tesseract's grooooooove....

Edit: Inter Arma's debut is pretty solid from what I can tell....I know nothing about sludge...

Hahaha, so after me giving you a hard time on your list, you decided to strike back at me, eh? Because of my other lists, I'm not checking out a lot of debuts anymore, so it will take a while before I added them (if I like them). I listened to Tesseract and my opinion of it remains the same. I can be flexible when adding some essentials or classics of genres I'm not fond of, but Tesseract is neither of those, sorry. The other two I might check out again, but I'm not making any promises. I'm just whiney when it comes to vocals I guess.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check 'em out (eventually). Oh, but expect that In The Woods... album to be added soon since I've been meaning to check it out for a while now. I keep seeing that album in different lists and it seems like my kind of music.

And yet you have given a thumbs up to lists such as strade's 2012 list (200+ albums), Guib's thrash list (250+ albums) and MechanisT's 2011 list (about as long as this one, so 300+ albums). And those are year-lists and a specific list while this one is a general list with albums from many different genres and many different years. So in that sense this one could actually be considered less boring. Oh, and I can assure you that this list will keep growing.

I haven't heard any news about them, sadly. While they made a great album, it's still far less great than Warning's Watching From a Distance, at least in my opinion. If you haven't heard that one, then do check it out, it's awesome.

Yes, i gave my thumbs up for those lists when it was around 50 or something and then i lost my interest later when it piled up to 150+.

I don't know it becomes tiring to just scroll scroll scroll scroll and keep scrolling until it finishes. I believe lists should be restricted to 50 or maximum 100. After that, it becomes too tiring.

All my other lists are equal to or shorter than 75 albums by the way. This one is just pretty damn long and it will keep expanding. Why? Because there are always great debuts to be found. While there are 300+ albums on here, it's still just a fraction of the total amount of great debuts in metal. That being said, seeing as there are lots of doom and black metal albums already (my favourite genres, obviously), I'm now trying to add more of other genres such as (classic) heavy and thrash metal, but also death metal.

it is black metal but there a lot of Pink Floyd influence in there as well
